The beautiful city of West Jordan, UT played host to stop #6 of the USABMX Pro Series this weekend and Team Redline made out like thieves in the night, stealing eight out of a possible ten wins! Representing the squad was Elite World Champion Sam Willoughby, USABMX and USA Cycling National Champion Alise Post, rookie pro sensation Collin Hudson, and the TM, Jason Carnes. At 4300ft (second highest on the tour, next to Grand Junction, CO…coming up in August), the thin Utah air had everyone feeling the burn after every lap!

Alise was up first and set the tone early with lap after lap of dominating performances! She led wire-to-wire all weekend long, bringing home wins both days. This marked Alise’s third and fourth victories in-a-row, giving her seven USABMX wins this season and a commanding lead in the Pro standings.

Next up was the #91 bike of the World Champion, Sam Willoughby. After transferring through the motos and semi’s, Sam followed Alise by delivering a stellar lap and earned his third victory of the season. It takes perfect laps to be successful in Elite racing these days, and unfortunately day two didn’t go to script. A bobble in the semi put Sam out of the main and left him to cheer on the teammates from the stands.

After a rough comeback from a devastating injury at last year’s World Championship, Collin Hudson showed up in Salt Lake ready to shut the door on the past and kick his pro career into high gear! With a stacked field of hungry rookie pros, Collin made his way into the main and put together a flawless lap to capture his VERY FIRST career pro win! After the long road to recovery, he was ecstatic to finally hoist the big check and take his first trip to the top of the podium as a professional racer! Following Saturday’s performance would be tough to do, but Collin made it happen from way out in lane seven, giving him a huge double-win weekend.

Last up is trucker extraordinaire, TM Jason Carnes. With a thirty year BMX career, the team manager has figured out how to get it done between fanning the team, bike repairs, and icing down Sam’s Coca-Cola! Carnes left Salt Lake with a bag of goodies that included two 41-45 cruiser wins and first and third place finishes in Expert.

Thanks to everyone who made it another awesome Great Salt Lake Nationals, including the staff at Rad Canyon BMX, USABMX, and all the fans and Redline racers out there! Next weekend, we will be taking it back a little closer to sea-level and returning to world famous Rockford BMX! Also, don’t forget to check out Redlinebicycles.com for the Flight School schedule. We’ll be making stops on Tuesday at The Hill BMX in Elgin, IL (5-8) and Wednesday at Waukegan BMX in Waukegan, IL (6-9). Summer tour is in full swing!
