This weekend Ocean City, Maryland was once again host to the first stop of the 2013 Dew Tour. With park, street, vert, and flatland all in the lineup, Redline team riders Brandon Dosch and Glenn Salyers made their way to the beach to compete in the park discipline.
Last year in Ocean City Brandon had an unfortunate crash in practice that took him out of the competition, so he was more hyped than ever this year to get back on it. Just before he padded up for the semifinals on Friday Brandon said, “I just want to keep it rubber side down and have a good time.”
Brandon did indeed keep it rubber side down, and despite a few slip-ups early on in his first two runs, he powered through the course that he helped design with his signature speed, style, and ambidextrous spins.
Glenn, who has been struggling with a recently sprained wrist, surprised a lot of people and turned a lot of heads in the semifinals. His runs were action packed from start to finish…from whipping off the wall ride, to cruising a hang five across the slant wall, to doing a stretched peacock over the spine, Glenn mixed things up with heavy moves and creative lines that put him in 17th place, just five spots out of the finals.
Amazing riding from the Redline riders and everyone else mixed with sunshine and sand made for another incredible contest weekend in Maryland! Thanks for the rad times, Ocean City! We’ll see you next year!
