Redline Bicycles has helped sponsor the MSG series for many years.  This year the emphasis was on growing the ranks of juniors  and the Conquest 20 & 24 were givien as series prizes to the junior kids.  Some of the prettiest courses we have ever seen, in parks that are downright lusciuos, if you are ever down Tennesse way….get to these races!

Here is the season wrap-up report:

It’s hard to believe that the Mud, Sweat and Gears Series has ended. Racing began way back in September in 90 degree heat, and finished in the mud and ice, on December 4th. This year was our seventh season expanding to 8 races from the 6 in previous years. We also added new venue, Farmhouse Gallery and Gardens, in Unicoi, TN. Cyclo-cross is still growing in the southeast and we had an  increase again this season, averaging 150 entries per race and and an average 139 unique individuals. That is along way from the 40 or so way back in 2004. This year we also had the honor of hosting 3 South Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference races, the last one being the SECCC Conference Finals. 2010 was the first time SECCC has had a full cross season.

This year we had an opportunity to create our own cyclo-cross specific team with the focus being on juniors. The response was huge and we ended up with 14 kids along with many of their parents, and rank and file members of the Tri-Cities Road Club. The kids participated in all of the MSG events, but also were exposed to bigger events. In October, we traveled to Louisville for the USGP, and in November, the NCGP of Cross in Hendersonville, NC. At our series final we gave away two Redline kids bikes that were also available for kids to demo though out the series. It was great to see kids get such and awesome prize. Below is a race report of the MSG final which includes a bonus a report on the SECCC final held the following day, at the same venue, and on the same course. We really appreciate our sponsors who have supported us for so many years, especially Redline which has been apart of MSG since the beginning. This has been our biggest season yet! Thanks to all our sponsors, you make it happen!
