The weekend’s over and the results are history. I am back "home" in San Diego now and getting ready for the 2010 season already. Every year I get to this point and think…"where the heck did the year go?"
I would have to admit that I am pretty impressed with my year; even though the results might not show it. I think this has been one of my most progressive years in my racing career. My riding has improved so much and I couldn’t be happier about it.
Next year hopefully I can start the year out on the right note and not have to play catch up again.
As for this years’ Grands, though — I rode well in my first two mains, was tied for the win going into the last race, and pulled lane 8 … unluuuckkkyyy. I stayed confident and gave it my all, but I just didn’t get out of the traffic early enough and got held out on the outside lane with my left blinker still on. For the rest of the lap I don’t think I hit full speed once, but decided to do the decision maker anyway (since I had nothing to lose back in last place) … figured, I might as well try and look cool right? So, I wound up third for the day – yet was really happy to see Caroline earn the win.
Gotta keep this brief (because I have homework to tend to). Keep checkin back with me here at RedlineBicycles.com and see what’s in store for the New Year!
Happy Holiday season everyone!
