39 juniors braved the howling winds, cold, and rain for round 5 of the Oregon Junior Cyclocross Series that was also the Oregon State Championships.

The well run event was hosted by the Willamette Valley Cross Series and BicycleAttorney.com

The Salem State Fairgrounds, while flat, proved to be a challenging course with high winds, boggy grass sections, a sand pit, and two indoor arenas including a Motocross track.

Kolben Preble has extended his lead in the Boy’s 17-18 series with a great race against Andrew Bennett. Andrew just out sprinting Kolben at the line.

Trevor Schauer is holding his series lead but Timothy Jaynes is on an impressive win streak making it close in the boys 15-16. Colin Dunlap has shown consistent results earning his third position in the series.

Michel Stevens pulled out a great race to beat seemingly unbeatable Sam Rosenburg in the Boys 13-14 race. Adam Oliver is right there in 3rd.

Grant McElroy has won two in a row in the Boys 10-12 category, but steady Orion York still has a commanding series lead.

Sierra Reid took advantage of missing Carina Hahn to jump into the series lead in the Girls 17-18 category.

Dana Martel took out here second win in a row to edge a small lead in the very tight Girls 15-16 group with Marisa Reid, Samantha Schauer, and Natalie Fisher all close behind.

Haley Wilson took her 5th win in a row in the Girls 10-12 group. Haley is only undefeated Junior in any of the 8 categories. Ema Rosenburg and Sierra Kelly are right there making Haley earn it.

The last two races in the series are back at Camp Harlow in Eugene. Saturday Nov 21st, and Sunday Nov 29th (Final Awards).
