Derby bmx club were the hosts for rounds 8&9 of the British Cycling Bmx national series.
With the race season now past half way, chasing for points is now more important to get a good ranking and Redline/Troy Lee rider Alan Hill continued his reign in 40-44yr cruiser and took the win on both days, extending his lead even more. Masters was a different affair by crashing out in the final and rolling in 8th and Sunday with a well fought 2nd place.
Championship women riders Ayesha McLelland and Valerie Zebrokova both fought hard against some strong competition and Ayesha came in 3rd on both days with Valerie close behind in 4th. In the rankings Valerie remains in 3rd place with Ayesha in 4th with 2 rounds still to go.
Elite men was where the action was with moves happening at every corner, Cal Strickland come in a respectable 3rd place on Saturday but Sunday was a different affair and got caught up and crashed in the last corner.
