Another busy couple of weeks have flown by since my last post so I thought I better update the fans. With the rest of my teammates training for the supercross and UCI events, I’ve been holding it down solo lately trying to keep the show on the road.
I was sad to leave my family (the Sawyers) in Palm Harbor but the party finally had to end! I made the trip from Tampa up to the Atanta area last Wednesday for Flight Schools in Peachtree City and Powder Springs as well as the ABA national there. The clinics are really picking up steam and the Georgia stops were filled to capacity. Luckily I had some help from local hero Victor Palmeri and he kept all the kiddies in check! Everything went smooth and both tracks were groomed to perfection. Everyone had a good time and hopefully learned a thing or two.
The trip to Atlanta was capped off with the ABA national at Cobb County BMX…the track that destroyed my body two years ago. I’ve been racing there since the mid-nineties and the track was easily the nicest I have ever seen it. With 140 motos and perfect weather, I was pumped to get the weekend underway. Since this was not a pro-series weekend I lined up with the young guns in A-pro. I always enjoy racing that class and managed a pair of 5th place finishes (and no crashes). Props to Jason Larev and Matt Beatty for their wins. They were pulling!
The weekend went great and it was nice to leave there with some positive memories. Time for a little r&r in North Carolina!!
Pics: hanging with the Redline Blue Herron team from Minnesota and Scott’s Bikes Redline guys from Cleveland, TN as well as a few pics from last weeks Flight Schools.
Take it easy homies!
