After taking a hiatus for several years, X Games finally brought back BMX dirt to US soil in Austin, Texas this weekend at the 20th anniversary of the Games. As a recent transplant to Austin, our very own Brandon Dosch was stoked to have the contest so close to home where he could sleep at his apartment and make an omelet the morning before the big competition.

The jumps were massive, the course was fast, the weather was hot, and the crowd was on fire going into the competition, and in his typical fashion, Brandon took it easy in practice and turned up the juice when it counted. After qualifying into the Super Finals, Brandon secured his spot on the podium with 720s on the first set, a whip over the skim jump, 360s in both directions, and a triple whip on the last booter set. During his last run, in attempts to bump up his score, Brandon went for a 1080 on the first set, but came up short and just couldn’t roll away. Not wanting to disappoint the crowd, he hopped back on the bike, pedaled around the berm, and hit the rest of the course to give the fans one final show.

This bronze makes Brandon’s second X Games medal and will sit next to his silver from last years Brazil contest. Congrats on an incredible performance; we’re proud of you B!
