Hey guys, so its that time of year again: Grands time! We’ve been gearing up for this national since the Land O Lakes national in August- its the first national that we’ll have the team together as a whole since then. I sat down and asked the team five questions that I thought would make the most sese to ask right now. I only got a answers from a few of our riders, but their answers are sure to please.(:

1.) How are you feeling going into this year’s Grand Nationals?

Jeff: Not feeling as good going into Grands this year as they aren’t as prepared as years past.

Dominick S: I’m nervous.

Alex: Not feeling as good going into Grands this year as they aren’t as prepared as years past.

Jenna: confident, I feel I worked hard this year.

Joel: I feel really good. I got a win at Puerto Rico n hung out.

Justin: Umm, I’m feeling good. I really can’t wait, its going to be fun.

Sam: I feel ready, I’ve been working hard all year and feel like Grands is going to be a good weekend for me.

2.) What has your training schedule looked like going into Grands?

Jeff: I just started to train more recently.

Dominick S: *too little to train

Alex: I’ve been working lately and haven’t been too many practices.

Jenna: Sit-ups, push-ups, jumping jacks and jump ups; sprints and riding on the trainer

Joel: i’m basically workin out at the track and doing sprints to get ready

Justin: Not much, I haven’t been doing too much to train. Really I should be doing morem all I’ve been doing is riding my bike.

Sam: I’ve been trying to go the gym as often as possible, sprints three times a week, practice and racing on both bikes at the indoor, and training nights at the outdoor as much as possible.

3.) What are your goals going into the weekend?

Jeff:  to make the mains, but realistically hope to make semis.

Dominick S: to make the mains, but realistically hope to make semis.

Alex: to make the mains, but realistically hope to make semis.

Jenna: Making my mains and going NAG on my cruiser

Joel: My goal is to go hard, make the main, and get a NAG number.

Justin: To at least make mains at the ROC, and semis at the least at Grands.

Sam: Mains on the cruiser, I want so badly to be in that gate come mains time Sunday!

4.) What are you most looking forward to?

Jeff: Grands is just a fun adventure in itself even if you don’t make the mains. ROC is always fun!

Dominick S: Grands is just a fun adventure in itself even if you don’t make the mains. ROC is always fun!

Alex: Grands is just a fun adventure in itself even if you don’t make the mains. ROC is always fun!

Jenna: Seeing other racing friends from other states and being able to race them and compete

Joel:  Just havin fun hangin out and going hard.

Justin: Hanging out with friends and people I haven’t seen in a while.

Sam: The time I get to spend with my out-of-state friends and teammates, I love our team, we have some great riders and we all get along really well for the age differences that we have. So the team bonding time and all that is something I can’t wait for, and another big one on my list is watching Dylan, my little brother, race the ROC, he was SO excited to get his invite so I can’t wait to watch him tear it up on the track too.(:

5.) Are you nervous, or excited for Grands?

Jeff: excited, its always a good time!

Dominick S: very nervous.

Alex: excited, its always a good time!

Jenna: Both, nervous about tough competition but excited to see everyone.

Joel: excited, totally

Justin: I’m excited to get back on the national scene, my last national was in Powder Springs, GA earlier this season before my spleen injury.

Sam: I’m both, I’m nervous that I’m putting too much pressure on myself but soo excited at the same time.(:

I also had a second set of questions that i had to ask our injured rider, Devin since he isn’t going to be able to race at Grands. Heal up quick Devin!

1.) How’s recovery going?

the recovery is going good I’ve got my knee bending to 130° and I’m walking about half the time without a crutch and the other half with just one Crutch and i rode my cruiser sitting down with my seat up on the concrete this weekend.

2.) When do you plan to be back on a bike?

I doubt I’ll be racing grands but hope to be riding good by Guthrie.

3.) What are your goals once you’re able to ride again, i.e. the end of this season/beginning of next season?

I wanted to turn A-pro at Guthrie next year but this set me back a little so I still plan to turn sometime next year im just not sure when im going to train as hard as i can this winter and just see how it goes.

4.)  what advice do you have for anyone going into Grands?

Just stay focused and it’s a long weekend so try no to run around to much and make sure lots of stretching and eat right

And that’s all from Minnesota- See you all in Tulsa in a few days.
